Taking another step to hold the Department of Veterans Affairs accountable on its delivery of health care, Congressman Ander Crenshaw, Member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, voted Tuesday (7/21) to pass the Veterans Information Modernization Act (H.R. 2256) -- legislation that directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit an annual report to Congress on the Veterans Health Administration's efforts to provide hospital care, medical services, and nursing home care.

"I am one hundred percent committed to making sure our veterans receive all the benefits that they have earned and deserve. And, when it comes to health care, there is clearly more work to be done," said Crenshaw. "That's why I voted to pass the Veterans Information Modernization Act. The measure requires the VA to provide an annual report to Congress on the types and costs of the health care services they are providing and deserves swift passage in the Senate. The clock is ticking for our veterans who without delay deserve efficient, cost-effective health care for their service to our country."

H.R. 2256 passed the House by a vote of 408-0 and moves to the United States Senate for consideration.
